BAND CONTEST.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I would like to ask the promoters of the hand contest to be held iii Dunedin next Saturday to inform the public of the _ names of the bands which are competing, not those which are only entered. Secondly, isdheeontest to raise funds to send' a band fop a holiday to the Wellington band contest in February? The promoters seem backward in letting the public know,Why not give the proceeds to the unemployed iundsdnstead of wasting them in the way of a free trip, at the pubho expense.—l am, etc., Curious, January 19*
