STRAY DOGS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—A line or two about the latitude given to stray dogs. In town and suburb these canine creatures roam at their leisure, much to the annoyance of motorists, particularly motor cyclists. Most of these dogs have no collars, and by their antics on a road at South Dunedin I was just about thrown from my motor cycle. Perhaps it will take a few more carefree, barking dogs_ to jvake up some of the slumbering officials
of the Dunedin City Council. I understand there is a by-law that all dogs must be on a leash. The council can spend money like water on half-finished undertakings, but perhaps it might make a hole in its pocket if it were to take one of its lorries around the city once or twice a week and collect these; stray disease-carriers. —I am, etc., Once Thrown,- ; , January 19.
