(Received January 13, at 11 a.m.) The Minister of Horae Affairs (Mr R. A. Parkhill) stated that tho new Government would give full preference in employment to returned soldiers. The first step taken by the Government in its anti-Commuuist policy will bo to reissue the proclamation prohibiting the import of all literature advocating overthrow by force of any constitutional Government. SENATE SEATS. BRISBANE, January 13. (Received January 13', at 11 a.m.) Mr G. Brown, Mr J. Ceilings, and Mr J. Macdonald, Federal Labour nominees, were elected to the Senate vacancies. PERTH, January 13. Sir George Pearce, Mr P. Lynch, and Mr W. Carroll (United Australia Party candidates) won the Senate seats.
