FIGURES FOR LAST YEAR VARIED OCCUPATIONS OF BANKRUPTS Of a wide range are the occupations of those avlio filed in bankruptcy in Dunedin during 1931, as disclosed by the annual returns of the Official Assignee. . , , , The occupations of the bankrupts were: Labourers (4), farmers (3), salesmen (3), butchers (2), carriers (2), carting contractors (2), fishmen (2), restaurant keepers (2), sawmillers (2), avool and skin merchants (2), blacksmith, bricklayer, builder, bus proprietor, carpenter, company manager, dairyman, electrical engineer, fishmonger, hotelkeeper, land agent, lorry driver, manufacturer, miner, motorbodv builder, painter, pastrycook, petrol station proprietor, plasterer, plumber, and puntman. In three of tho bankruptcies the liabilities Avero from £SO to £100; in tAvelvc they Avere from £IOO to £250; in eleven they were from £250 to £500; in ten they were from £SOO to £1,000; in six they Avere from £I,OOO to £2,000; and in tAvo they Were from £2,000 to £5,000.
