The Bluff trawler, Taratahi, went into dry dock this morning at Port Chalmers _to have structural alterations carried out. The Canadian Challenger left Dunedin earlv this morning for New York, Boston, and Halifax, with cargo loaded in the dominion. THE FERRY SERVICE. The Rangatira, from Wellington, arrivH at Lyttelton at 6.55 this morning, and passengers and mails caught the'south express. THE CANADIAN TRANSPORTER. Messrs H. L. Tapley and Company advise that the Canadian Transporter is due at Dunedin to-morrow from Lyttelton to unload Canadian cargo and to load for the return trip to New York, Boston, and Halifax, She is to sail on Monday for Melbourne. THE KIA ORA. The Kia Ora, which was scheduled to leave London on February 10 for Port Chalmers and Lyttelton, will, m addition to these ports, discharge at New Plymouth and Nelson. HUNTINGDON IN BALLAST. The Huntingdon, which is en route from Falmouth in ballast, sailed from Caracas Bay on Tuesday. She is due in New Zealand about January 28 to commence her Homeward loading. NAVIGATION WARNING. The Marine Department advises that the master of the Titoki reports that on Thursday morning he passed a spar or log 2ft to 3ft thick Hoating end on and projecting about 3ft out of the water. The position was off Terawhiti, bearing south-west by east, magnetic distance seven miles. CUMBERLAND COMPLETING. The Cumberland, which is loading in New Zealand, is to leave Picton to-day for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers to fill up. It is expected that she will sail from Port Chalmers at daylight on January 14, for London via Panama and Curacao. TAIROA DELAYED. The National Mortgage and Agency Company advises that the Tairoa is now duo at Port Chalmers on Wednesday morning from Tiiparu to complete Homeward loading. She will sail at daybreak on January 15 for London and west coast of England ports, via Panama and Kingston (Jamaica),

lONIC LEAVES COLON. The lonic, which left Auckland oh December 12 for Southampton and London via Panama and Jamaica, sailed from Colon on Tuesday. MATAKANA FROM LIVERPOOL'* The Shaw, Savill, _ and Albion steamer, Matakana, arrived at Dunedin yesterday afternoon from Glasgow and Liverpool via northern ports. She was berthed at the Victoria wharf to discharge cargo. The vessel sailed from Liverpool on November 9, and experienced stormy westerly weather, during the first ten days in the Atlantic.
