FEDERAL POLITICS
MR THEODORE'S INTENTIONS MAY BE FOUND A SAFE SEAT. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, January 8. (Received January 8, at 9 a.m.) Acording to Labour gossip Mr Theodore (ex-Federal Treasurer) may try to re-enter Federal politics. The Australian Workers’ Union, which is looking round for a new leader, pins its faith to Mr Theodore, and overtures may bo made shortly to Mr Baker, who recently won the Oxley seat (Queensland) for Federal Labour, to vacate it for a lucrative position as union organiser, in which case Mr Theodore will receive Labour endorsement for that seat. Ho would, if successful, lead the Labour campaign against the Mooro Government at the next State elections in May.
