The Prince handed her a pound note from his waistcoat pocket and chose a carnation for his buttonhole. _ , Elated by her success, Daphne rant off and returned in a few minutes with a programme, which she presented 1 firs# to Charlie Chaplin for his signature* and then to the Prince. The Prince, laughing a good deal* signed “ Edward P T ’ and returned it to her. She shook her finger at the Prince and said, “ You know that is not youi! “How do you know?” asked thfll Prince. . The child, rather covered l with confusion by the peals of laughter, rad away again. She showed the signature to her mother, wlio told her it was quite correct, but she replied that she had been told that the Prince’s namq iVAB P.avid.
