AUSTRALIAN TEAM’S TOUR MRS DYKES IN SEMI-FINAL [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, January 8. The tennis tournament was resumed to-day in perfect weather. Results:— SINGLES. —Semi-finals.— Miss Hall (N.S.W.) beat Miss D. Nicholls, 6-3, 6-4. Mrs Dykes beat Miss Hartigan (N.S.W.), 3-6, 6-3, 6-2. COMBINED DOUBLES. —Semi-final.— Mrs Andrew and Greenwood beat Miss Poole and O’Malley, 6-3, 6-4. —Second Round.— Miss Hartigan and Glanvill© beat Miss Lloyd and Browning, 6-1, 6-1. Miss Nicholls and Rhodes Williams beat Mrs Dykes and Dykes, 6-3, 6-3. WOMEN’S DOUBLES. —Second Round.— Misses Wake and Andrew beat Misses E. Johnston and Sherriff, 6-1, 3-6, 6-2. MATCHES AT WELLINGTON [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, January 8, The New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association announced to-day that the New South Wales ladies’ team will play at Wellington on Friday and Saturday, February 12 and 13. The precise nature of the matches has yet to be determined.
