FRANCE AND ENGLAND EXPERTS TO DRAFT AGREEMENT. Pmi Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.
PARIS, January 5. (Received January 6, at 1.30 a.m.) M. Laval and Mr Ramsay MacDonald are likely to meet at the end of next week, when the Anglo-French experts are expected to draft a war debts agreement. ‘ Le Temps ’ says that M. Berthelot, though ostensibly visiting the Art Exhibition in London, will meet Sir John Simon and perhaps Mr MacDonald. THE LAUSANNE CONFERENCE. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, January 5. (Received January 6, at 11.10 a.m.) It is anticipated that Colonel Sir Maurice Hankey (the British Cabinet’s Secretary) will act as Secretary-Gen-eral at the Lausanne Reparations Conference. That post he occupied at the earliest international conference of a similar kind at London, The Hague, and elsewhere. The Governments concerned have informally welcomed the which it is expected the conference will confirm at its first sitting. Colonel Hankey is at present in Switzerland, and is in contact with the Swiss Government regarding preparations for the conference.
