LONDON, January 4. ‘ The Times ’ says that as the result of a bequest of £BO,OOO which was invested in 1911 by Mr Andrew Grant, a former member of the House of Commons, the Edinburgh College of Art will benefit to the extent of £350,000. It is believed that this has been unparalleled since the late Mr Andrew Carnegie gave four Scottish universities £2,500,000 in 1901. Mr Grant died in 1924, aged ninety-four, and his widow died last year. The bequest is now available, and it is expected that it will be applied to travelling and other Scholarships.—London ‘ Times - Cable.
