(Received January 6, at 11.25 a.m.) At I.e wool sales beginning'on January 12 179,000 bales will be available, including the following new arrivals Australian 70,000 and New Zealand 28.000. It is expected that about 152,000 bales will be offered. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from London, dated January s:—The list of arrivals closed on the 4th inst. Quantity available; Australian, 70,000 bales; New Zealand, 28,000; Cape, 1,500; South America, 2,500; carry forward, 77,000. Brokers expect to offer 153,500 tabs, including Australia, 80,500; New Zealand, 65,500; Cape, 2,200; South America, 2,500; England, 2.000. Sales close February 2. SYDNEY WOOL SALES. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, January 5. At the wool sales 9,484 bales were offered and 8,985 were sold, while 967 were sold privately. There was a keen demand from Japan, but the competition otherwise was fairly general,- and prices showed a distinct hardening tendency for all lines other than best fleece qualities. A meeting of shareholders of Quill, Morris, Ltd., wine and spirit merchants and aerated water manufacturers, decided to-dav that the company should go into voluntary liquidation. Mr J. T. Sutton, chairman of directors, and Mr W. H. Nicholls, public accountant, were appointed liquidators.
