OTAGO CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Otago Lawn Tenuis Association’s championship tournament was advanced a stage yesterday afternoon at Logan Park, when the unconcluded events wero carried as far as the finals. On account of tho darkness it was impossible to dualise the tournament, but, weather permitting, this will be done on Saturday. Tho results were as follow; MEN’S DOUBLES CHAMPIONSHIP. —Semi-final.— S. G. M'Dougall and G. T. Black beat Dr Moody and S. Falconer, 6-1, 6-2. LADIES’ DOUBLES CHAMPIONSHIP. -Semi-final.— Miss Pattison and Miss White boat Miss Culver and Miss Hislop, (i-2, 10-12, 6-3. Miss Partridge and Miss Fleming beat Miss Fraser and Miss Somerville, 6-1. 0-2. MIXED DOUBLES CHAMPIONSHIP. —Second Round.— Pollock and Miss Pattison beat Halstead and Miss Balthrop, 6-2, 6-0. —Third Round.— Pearce and Miss White beat Falconer and Miss Flett, 8-6, 6-4. Dr Moody and Miss Calver beat M'Dougall and Miss Fleming, 6-2, 12-10. Black and Miss Partridge beat Chisman and Mrs Chisman, 6-3, 6-0. Pollock and Miss Pattison beat Phillipps and Miss Rackley, 6-1, 6-2. —Semi-final.— Black and Miss Partridge beat Dr Moody and Miss Calver, 6-3, 8-6. Pollock and Miss Pattison beat Pearce and Miss White, 8-6, 7-5. MIXED DOUBLES HANDICAP. —Second Round.— Halstead and Miss Balthrop (rec. 5-6) beat Pearce and Miss White (owe 40), 9-1. —Third Round.— Pollock and Miss ’Pattison (owe 40) beat Welding and Mrs Webliug (owe 2-6), 9 ; 6. Phillipps and Miss Bagley (owe 15 2-6) beat Chisman and Mrs Chisman (owe 1-6), 9-7. Dillon and Mrs Puller (received 2-6) beat Falconer and Miss Flett (owe 15 1-6), 9-4. Halstead and Miss Balthrop beat Hawksworth and Miss Fraser, 9-3. —Semi-final.— Dillon and Mrs Fuller beat Pollock and Miss Pattison, 9-7. Halstead and Miss Balthrop beat Phillipps and Miss Bagley, 9-4. MEN’S DOUBLES HANDICAP. —Semi-final.— Douglas and Hawksworth (owe 2-6) beat Halstead and M'Gregor (scr), 9-5. —Pinal.— Douglas and Hawksworth beat Deaker and Barnes (owe 15 4-6), 9-4. LADIES’ SINGLES HANDICAP. —Final.— Miss Hislop (owe 15) beat Miss Somerville (received 2-6), 9-7.
