PRISON FOR CONSTABLE
REPORTS HIS OWN BURGLARY How a policeman reported a burglary and afterwards admitted that he himself had been the burglar was told at the Police Court at Bournemouth, England, lately, when Gilbert Frank Pool, a constable, appeared on charges of theft. . It was stated that an inspector and sergeant hid themselves in a shop, having left a bag containing 12s sd, including marked coins, in an open drawer. The door of the shop was left open, and they heard Pool, who was on liis beat, enter the premises and leave again, The money was missing, and Pool later showed where he had hidden it in the window of a hotel. In another case it was stated that Pool reported that a warehouse had been broken into. Later, when charged with the first case, he admitted he had been responsible for the burglary. _ Ho was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment ffiith harj labour,-
