WHEAT QUOTAS

(Received December 30, at 10 a.m.) The Liverpool Chamber of Commerce passed a resolution opposing wheat quotas on the ground that they would . seriously interfere with the freedom of • marketing the free selection of the world’s wheat for British milling. One authority contends that the quota I would result in dearer bread. The uncertainty regarding the dominions’ quota is seriously affecting trade in the futures market. They are experiencing the smallest trade for forty years.
