NORTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIP [Prat Unuted Press Association-.] WANGANUI, December '29. The North Island It die Shooting Championship Meeting was concluded on the Putiki range to-day. There was a steady cross wind, but the conditions were good. Rifleman C. J. Nix (Featherston Club) won the North Island championship with a score of 333. Rifleman H. W. Feast (Oreytown) took second place with 331, and was closely followed by Rifleman F, N. M'Vicar (Waipukurau) with a score of 330. For the qualifying aggregate the two firstnamed held score sheets showing totals of 286, Rifleman M‘Vicar having a 282. Captain H. Siramonds (Auckland City Club) returned a score sheet of 283, but was displaced when ho scored 46 in the final shoot to Rifleman M‘Vicar’s 48, who tin’s rose to third place. Exceptional shooting was seen in the Teams’ Match, won by Pctone No. 1 team, the members of which were W. M'Vicar, O. Donnell, R. H. Nicholl, J. C. Carter, and E. A. Ballinger. The possible for each man was 105, and Petone No. 1 rose from the mound with an average of 97.6. In the Manawatu Match, at 500yds, two tyros, J. Sim (Okawn) and R. Stuart (Cheltenham), put on the possible, while R Rook (New Plymouth), another tyro, was cnly 1 point behind to fill third place; Rifleman H. C.
