Mr John Drinkwater’.s collection of old postage stamps of the United States came up for sale in London some weeks ago and fetched £l5O. A St, Louis five cents (1845) was bought for £3O, and a rare specimen of the one cent blue (1851) £23. He has decided to specialise in stamps of the Conlederate States. Motor ear accidents caused 32,000 deaths last year in the United States, where the population is 120,000,000, In Groat Britain, with a population of 44,500.000, deaths through street accidents numbered 6,696.
