The * Sun’s ’ Canberra correspondent says that there is talk of an influential move to restore the former basis of appointing Governors-General, and it is even suggested that Sir Isaac Isaacs, tho only Australian-born citizen to hold the office, may resign within a lew months, and bo succeeded by an English peer. Tho correspondent also predicts that Mr W. M. Hughes will, shortly bo announced as High Commissioner in London to succeed Sir Granville Ryrie, whose five-year term expires in. ApriL;
