Tho minei’s from tho two collieries controlled by the Broken Hill Proprietary refused to strike in sympathy with tho seamen, who have been withdrawn from the company’s steamers. THE SEAMEN’S ATTITUDE SYDNEY, December 25. The Newcastle Seanien’s Union has decided to stand firm in its refusal to man the Broken Hill Company’s ships despite its failure to secure tho miners’ co-operation. The seamen believe that the Miners’ Central Council will compel tho miners to obey instructions and support the seamen.
