SENSATION IN ASSEMBLY HOMEBUSH ABATTOIRS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, December 23. There was a sensation in the Assembly this afternoon when the Deputy-Leader of the Country Party (Mr Bruxner) stated that ho had evidence that the the Meat Board had agreed to lease the Homehush Abattoirs to a private company. He said he had a copy of a letter by Mr W. Gordor, chairman of directors of the Australian Graziers’ Meat Company, claiming that an agreement for a twenty-one years’ lease had been obtained. Mr Lang denied any knowledge of any lease. “ Liar!” exclaimed Mr Bruxner as he left the Chamber. TEXT OF THE PROPOSALS. SYDNEY, December 24. (Received December 24, at 10.20 a.m.) The letter read in the Assembly indicated that the lease of the Homehush Abattoirs was contemplated for a term of twenty-one years to the Australian Graziers’ Meat Company Ltd., of which Mr Scott, the present Meat Board chairman, was a director before his appointment to this office. Graziers in the city understand that there is a move by American interests to secure the lease. It is rumoured that the Labour caucus will oppose the proposed lease, hut the Meat Board’s powers are unchallengeable. PARLIAMENT ADJOURNS. SYDNEY, December 24. (Received December 24, at 10.20 a.m.) The State Parliament has risen till February 23. The municipal elections in the metropolitan area, which were postponed by the Lang Government’s _ proclamation owing to the Federal election campaign, will be held on January 2, the Legislative Council having blocked a further postponement.
