Hungary, whose foreign indebtedness is about £160,000,000, has declared a moratorium of a year for foreign debt transfers, and a standstill for all private short-term debts for six months. The exceptions to the former are the League; of Nations loan of 1924 and a recent loan of £5,000,000, which was Slied almost entirely by French s. LONDON, December 23. Bankers in London were prepared for Hungary’s partial moratorium. The short-term indebtedness hold here totals about £36,000,000.
