Nathaniel John Reed, aged forty* two, a salesman, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment to bo followed by twelve months’ probation; for false pretences. Detective-ser-geant Kelly said that last August in Wellington accused falsely told Florence Edna Adams he was to receive £14,000 from the estate .of his father, who had died in Dunedin, and on the strength of this representation the accused was lent £5.
