Jr A Picnic Trip on SH ELL START from Queen’s Gardens, High Street, filling up with SHELL Spirit and Oil, and drive up Burlington Street, into Moray Place, into Stuart Street, up Albert Street, into Littlebourne Road, and along main town belt. Turn north-west into Driver’s Road, cross the Highgate Tram and go down hill into Balmacewan Road, into Blantyre Road. Where the road forks, go right and ascend to the hill crest. A sharp double-back turn brings you above Ross Creek Reservoir. (A stop at the gates and a short walk to the Reservoir, proper is well worth while.) Continue on into Leith Valley, along the main Sullivan Dam—Waitati Road, up the hill and down into Waitati.' From here the Main North Road takes you to Evensdale Glen, a pretty picnic spot. The road is now straightforward, over the Kilmog Hill and on just past Merton. Instead of following the Main Road turn sharp to the left on a road cut in the face of a low hill, cross the Waikouaiti River and climb to the hill top. Pass through the gates (be sure to close them after you) and decend the hill in second gear and picnic at Bucklands Crossing. Return to Waitati, and take the Main Road back via Port Chalmers to Dunedin, turning to the left about half way up Mt. Cargill at .the sign post. From Port Chalmers an excellent marine drive leads back to Dunedin. We hope you enjoyed the trip. Whether you are motoring on tour, to picnics, for business or pleasure, the use of SHELL Motor Spirit and Oil will ensure miles of trouble-free motoring. 1 o ravel well-OUI up with SHELL Motor Spirit Motor Oil Shell is different THE SHELL COMPANY OF NEW ZEALAND LIMITED '"•v \ Very Steap Hill Grade about 1 in 4- - but Perfect Surface.
