MANCHURIAN DISPUTE
UNITED STATES CONCERN RESPECT OF TREATY OBLIGATIONS ASKED Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. WASHINGTON, December 18. (Received December 19, at 10.30 a.m.) A new expression of concern over the Mancffuriau dispute in friendly but positive terms has been communicated to Japan by the United States Ambassador, (Mr Forbes) On instructions from the Secretary of the State (Mr H. L. Stimsoiv, ho again emphasised to the Japanese Foreign Office the solicitude of the United States that the obligations under the Nino Power and Kellogg-Briaml Treaties should be respected. No formal communication was delivered to the Foreign Office but the attitude was again expressed verbally by tho Ambassador.
