SOUTH AFRICA'S SMALL SCORE GRIMMETT AND M'CABE BOWL WELL SYDNEY, December 18. _ The South Africans won the toss in the second test match, but quickly lost any advantage that might have been gained from that factor when five good wickets fell before lunch for 62 runs. Thrill followed thrill. Mitchell, before he had scored, was dropped by Rigg off M'Cabe, but M'Cabo with a low in-swinger got him in the next over. Christy, when his score was 4, was missed by Oldfield off Wall. Grimmett, who was bowling _ excellently, had Christy and Morkel tied up, and eventually dismissed them. His figures were two wickets for 4 runs off five overs, which included four maidens. He made them three for 9 when ho worried Taylor out. Viljoen and Vincent added 45 runs for the seventh wicket, the former batting very attractively ‘in his first test match. Vincent also played well. The side was out before 4.30, the innings having lasted 202 minutes. llie bowling was always accurate, and Grimmett was very deadly. With the Australians at the wickets sensations continued, Pousford being bowled round his legs with the total at 6.
