The last meeting of Linden Lodge was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Roslyn, last Tuesday, when A.D. Bro. Reynods presided over a good attendance of members. Being installation night, D.P. Bro. Reeves attended officially. After the routine business was concluded the D.P., assisted by P.A. T. Dove, Otago Lodge, proceeded to install the incoming officers. This was done in a most impressive manner, the D.P. giving a fine rendering of his charges. All the new officers spoke and expressed thanks for being x;eturned to office. The usual toasts were given and responded to by D.P. Bro. Reeves and P.A. Bro. T. Dove. It was decided to cancel children’s night this year, a notice to appear in the daily papers to this effect. A.D. Bro. Carbine presided over a splendid muster of members at the concluding meeting of the year in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Roslyn. Members of the Juvenile Council attended officially, and A.D. Bro. Miller and V.A. Bro. Tyrrell and several members of the Linden Lodge were present. The lodge business was quickly put through, and the parents of members were admitted, over eighty being present. Superintendent Bro. Jenkins welcomed them and gave a brief outline of the year’s work, and mentioned the various successes the lodge had attained. A fine programme was presented, items including the exhibition games; Bros. A. and W. Jenkins boxed a short bout; Bro. Tyrrell, banjo solo; and a competition between members, reciting ‘Dunedin From the Bay,’ which was won by Bro. Dakers, with Bro. I. Curtis second. Bro. Sinclair, president of the Juvenile Council, presented the lodge with the Efficiency Shield, and Bro. Thomson presented the Imitation Shield. Bro. Curtis won a medal for the best officer, and Bros. Dakers, Jenkins, V. and W. Jones, and J. Harneiss also won prizes. Bro. Carbine, who is leaving for Australia, also received a medal as a souvenir. Supper was then ' provided, and a short community sing brought the evening to a close. P.D.P.’s Bro. Faulds and Russbridge acted as judges for the competition, and spoke to the boys. The meeting of the Royal Oak Lodge was held in the lodge room, Oaversham, A.D. Bx'o. Hinton presiding. G.P. Bro. M'Leod and G.T. Bro. Birt were present officially, and were received with musical honours. P.A. Bro. Dumblo (Mistletoe), Sec, Broi, Webb, and P.A. Bro. Bezett (Enterprise), and Bro. Jones, M.P., were welcomed as visitors. Prior to the election of D.P. Bros. Dumblo and Webb, candidates for the position, addressed the meeting, after which the election took place, G.P. Bro. M‘Leod and C.T. Bro. Birt acting as scrutineers. Bro. E. F. Jones, not being of age to hold the office of P.A., Bro. H. Rackley was duly nominated and elected to the position. The installation of officers was carried out by G.T. Bx’o. E. Birt, who was assisted by G.P. Bro. M'Leod, Bro.' Birt’s rendering of the installation was of the highest order, and the officers well deserved the hearty vote of thanks accorded to them. A.D. Bro. Hinton, on behalf of the lodge, congratulated Bro. Jones on his election as a member for Parliament. Bro. Hinton wished Bro. Jones every success in his duties as M.P., and was sure that Bro. Jones would worthily uphold the confidence placed in him. Bro. Jones briefly returned thanks. G.P. Bro. W. M'Leod, G.T. Bro. E. Birt, P.A. Bro. A. Durable, and P.A. Bro. Bezett replied to the toast of “The Visitors.” _ The half-yearly meeting of Mistletoe Lodge was held in St. Mark’s Hall, Green Island, on Tuesday, Arch Druid Bro. J. J. Steward presiding over a good attendance of members and visitors. The 1 visitors present were:— G.P. Bro. M‘Leod, G.G. Bro. W. Ruston, P.A. Bro. Hunt (B. and M.), Sec. Bro. Webb (Enterprise), Bros. Huston, Hughes, sen., and Hughes, jun. (Bay Lodge), Bro. Huston (Mataura), and Bro. Richardson (Pride of Mornington). CoiTespondence and ordinary business was quickly dealt with. Committee reports were received from Bro. Webster (Euchre Committee) and from Bro. J. Logie, jun. (Social Committee). The lodge decided to Good Intent (Mosgiel) to a return cricket match. Grand Guardian Bro. Ruston, assisted by G.P. Bro. M'Leod, installed the incoming officers into their respective positions in a very pleasing and efficient manner, and received a very hearty vote of thanks for so doing. The newlyinstalled officers returned thanks. P.A. Bro, Burt received a very hearty vote of thanks for haying successfully passed through the chairs of the lodge. The lodge decided that his name be placed on the respect board, and that he be presented with a framed diploma. After the usual toasts were du’y honoured and replied to, the A.D. adjourned the lodge for the purpose of entertaining the visitors to cards. 1 The fortnightly meeting of Mistletoe Lodge was held in the Oddfellows’Hall, Mosgiel, on Wednesday evening. The secretary read the halfyearly balance-sheet, and the auditors gave their report, after which the bal-ance-shefet was adopted. I.P.G.P. Bro. G. Thompson, assisted by G.P. Bro. IV. M'Leod, installed the following brothers into office for the usual term: — A.D., Bro. J. Davidson; V.A., Bro. M. J. Thompson; treasurer, Bro. J. Tait; LG., Bro. Alexander Rankin; 0.G., Bro. R. H. Thomson; A.D. bards, Bros. H. M'Leod and W. Goughian; Y.A. bards, Bros. E. Freeman and F. Stoddart; M.C., Bro. D. Thomson; 1.P.A., Bro. A. Fraser; minute secretary, Bro. A. Jeffs. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the installing officers. P.A. Bro. Dumblo and P.A. Bro. Webb, candidates for the office of D.P., No. 8 district, were present, and both spoke and said if cither were elected he would carry out the duties of D.P. to the best of his ability. The ballot was taken, and the ballot papers were placed in an envelope and sealed in the usual manner, to be forwarded to the G.L. P.A. Bro. Durable, on behalf of Mistletoe Lodge, challenged Good Intent to a game of cricket. The challenge was accepted. P.A. Bro. D. Thomson received the usual vote of thanks for his service as A.D., his name to be placed on the Respect Board and to receive the usual presentation. The toasts proposed to G.L. officers and members of the Board of Management were replied to by G.P. Bro. M'Leod and I.P.G.P. Bro. G. Thompson, and the toasts to the visitors by P.G.P. Bro. Jacobson (All Nations), P.A. Bro. Connor (West Harbour), P.A. Bro. R. S. Webb (Enterprise), P.A. Bro. Dumblo (Mistletoe), and P.A. Bro. Ruston (Mataura Lodge). The lodge then adjourned for a social, and P.A. Bro. Connor (West Harbour) entertained the lodge with his piccolo. Songs were sung by Sister Matherson (Good Intent) and Bros. M. Thompson and R. Thomson (Good Intent). Sister Connor was the accompanist. G.P. Bro. M'Leod, on behalf of Good Intent, presented Y.A. Bro. M. J. Thompson with a small trophy for the best rendering of the Y.A. charge in the recent competition. Bro. Thompson suitably re-

plied. Light refreshments were handed round, and P.D.P. Bro. R. H. Thompson thanked the vistiors for their attendance, which had made the evening a very pleasant one. The Lily of the Valley Lodge held its last meeting for the year, A.D. Bro. Wahrlich presiding over a good attendance. Considerable correspondence was dealt with, several important communications were received from the Board of Management, also instructions for another ballot to bo taken regarding the election of district president on quarter night. The bax’ds reported only one sick member on the funds. P.A. Bro. Morris was _ called upon to present Bro. Munro with his P.A. diploma, and in doing so complimented the brother on the interest he was taking in lodge work, P.G.G. Bro. Reid mentioned the good work Bro. Munro was doing in connection with the juvenile movement, and urged the members to' give more attention to the lads. The recipient briefly returned thanks. The visitoi's—P.A. Bro. Avery (Otago) and P.A. Bro. Metcalf (Bay)—replied to the welcome extended to them. It was decided to meet again early in January. The meeting closed early, and a large number remained to have a game of cards.
