MEETING OF OTAGO ASSOCIATION A meeting of the Otago Yacht ami Motor Boat Association was held in Mr J. H. A. M'Keefrey’s board room last night. Mr W, 0. Martin (president) was in the chair. Before commencing the formal business the President welcomed Mr W. J. Davis back to the association, and said they would be glad of his help. CORRESPONDENCE. TTho Takapnna Boating Club wrote stating that the Cornwell Cup contest would be commenced at Wellington on February 1, 19.‘32^-Received. The Broad Club submitted the draft form of its regatta programme.—-Approved. The Burkes-St. Leonards Aquatic Club submitted a draft of the programme of its annual regatta.—Approved. The Vauxhall Power Boat and Sailing Club submitted the syllabus of its season’s races.—Approved, i The Wellington Yacht and Motor Boat Association wrote advising that challenges for the Sanders Cup contest had been received from Auckland, Canterbury, Otago, and Southland. Wellington will be the defender.—Received. GENERAL. Mr H. C. Brown withdrew from the position of delegate to the Macandrew Bay regatta. The matter of appointing a substitute was left over till the next meeting. _ Reporting on the measurement of Squib’s sails, Mr C. Smith stated that they were a few inches short all round, and unless they were subjected to undue strain would not be over the specified size. Mr H. C. Brown was appointed to represent the association at the Broad Bay regatta on New Year’s Day, and Mr J. Smaill was appointed to represent the association at the Burkes-St. Leonards regatta. The Cornwel. Cup Committee J reported that thirteen hoys had reported, and as only three boats were available it was decided to hold elimination trials. After ten races had been held five boys were eliminated. Two other boys were available and will compote in trials as from Saturday next. The committee asked for a ruling on the case of one boy who wished to sail in tho trials, he having been sailing in the Sanders Cup trials. It is the intention of tho committee to hold trials until the second week in January. The sailing ability of tho boys is fairly good. —The i"port was received, and it was resolved that tho whole of the handling of tho trials be loft in the hands of the committee,' i "
