MEETING OF DELEGATES

A meeting of delegates from chibs affiliated to the Southern Collie Club’s Championship Association was held in Dunedin last evening. Mr P. A. Watt was in the chair. , The Secretary submitted a Report and statement of finances. ’lheso were considered very satisfactory. Mention was made of the fact that at the Juno 1 11(29) meeting Oarston Club’s remit was considered—“ t'liat this club is of the opinion that tho championship meeting be held m a central position •and rrn under the auspices of the Miamffcnslup Association.” After discussion, it was decided to postpone tfie matter until alter Palmerston and .varepa Clubs had had their turn. Both these clubs have now held a championship.—As tho association was about to disband, tho matter dropped. Correspondence and reports were read concerning a judge ordering another run at a recent trial to a competitor whoso sheep had broken aw ay at the hunt-away. A competitor had protested against this sccod run.—Jfc was decided to refer the matter back to tho club to ascertain if the competitor had taken delivery of the sheep on tho first occasion, and, if so, how far no got with them on tho course) also were tho points shown on tho score card, for tho first or second runs? Messrs P. A. Watt and J. 1. Wads were empowered to iinalise this mattejyir P. A. Watt (Clutha) moved the following motion, due notice of which Had been given:—“That this association be now r wound up, and tho funds in hand be dealt with.” —The motion was carried. The disposal of the funds was considered, and it was present a shield, valued at £i(i 10s, to the South Island Championship Association, to be held tor the one year lor the long pull championship event.—Mr Thomson (Warepa) voted against this; he would have preterred that two smaller shields be given—one to the South Island Association and the other to tho Southland Association. Eulogistic rcierencc was made to Mr Walls’s services to the association since its formation in 1913, and a resolution was pmced on tho minutes expressing cue committee’s appreciation of his work, and a donation of £5 5s presented to him.-Mr Walls made suitable acknowledgment. Before the close of the meeting Mr Trotter asaed lor support lor the South island Association, and a similar appeal was made by Mr \vatt on behalf of the Otago Provincial Association. Mr Trotter mentioned that the South island Championship Association trials would be held next June at Uakataian*Mr Trotter mentioned that the South island Association would probably derive sufficient funds to work on by tho addition of 6d extra to all entry money «n the open events.
