TRAINING NOTES. WORK AT RICCARTON. (Pbr Uxitid' Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, November 5. The weather was tine for the training operations at Riccarton, Outside the course proper and the plough were in good order, while a couple of gallops wore done on No. 6 grass track. Some good gallops were registered, but many of the horses did only useful work. On N0..6 grass track. Kakara ran seven furlongs in Imin 30scc, Hoa accompanying him for the first half-mile. Palace and Tautbow went well over .six furlongs in Imin 15 2-ssec. On the course proper, Ha not ho and Arrow Maid ran live furlongs in Imin 4 sec, Meprisant and Riri did a mile in Imin 43 l-ssec, Solwit, Night Flyer, and Miss Bradbury five furlongs in Imin 3 3-ssec; while Martian Chief and Rose of Orange did a mile and a-quarter in 2min losec (the last half-mile in 52sec), and Cimabuo five furlongs in Imin 3 3-osec. Lancer and Giggleswick took Imin 50sec over a mile. Ram® and Royal Love ran a mile and a-halt in 2min 43sec. The pace was not fast in the early part, but they ran home the last half-mile in 50 3-skgc. Ramo had a slight advantage at the finish. Cricket Bat did a mile and a-quarter Zeebrugge going with him for the last mile. The Derby colt registered 2min lOsec, taking 52 2-ssec for the last half-mile. It was a good.gallop. Croupier and Kozan ran five furlongs in Imin 3 3-ssec. Gay Crest and Adelphi, who were not troubled, did seven furlongs in Imin 31 3-ssec. Dunraven, Semper Parattis, and Jason’s Quest ran seven furlongs in Imin 30 4-ssec. Juniper showed plenty of dash over half a milo in 49 2-osec. Ephialtes did a mile and a-quarter in 2min llsec. taking 39scc for the last three furlongs. • . Ross ferry aud Countermarch ran six furlongs in Imin 18 2-ssec. Gay Court and Lady Vane moved freely over six furlongs in Imin 17 3-ssce. Trees Sec beat Hounslow over six furlongs in Imin ISsec. Bronze Eagle, Peter Jackson, Gibraltar, and Barbacan galloped seven furlongs. Bronze Eagle trailed the others for half a mile, and then dashed past to win easily in Imin 32sec. Pixie Gold took Imin 19sec over six furlongs. H. E. Russell’s team —White Wings, Jayson, Aclventus, Beacon Five, and tho two-year-old Lack—ivero restricted to useful work, 'limited to three furlongs, in 38 l-ssec. Mount Boa and Chief Light - ran six furlongs in Imin 17 2-ssec, finishing together, but Mount Boa conceded his companion weight. The Viscount and Fortune’s Wheel ran six furlongs in Imin. 17 3-ssec. Quantum registered Imin 16sec for six furlongs, shoiving great dash in the early stages. The hurdler Gourmet gave a good display over four hurdles, clearing out over tho, last part from Land mark, whose display was poor. Captain’s Gift jumped four hurdles in great style.
