ARMAMENTS TRUCE
AGOEPTANCE BY BRITAIN A NOTE TO GENEVA (British Official Wireless.) Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. RUGBY, November 3. The British Government has addressed a Note to the Secretary-General of the League notifying him that as it is convinced that the Disarmament Conference will be greatly promoted by a general undertaking by all the invited States not to increase armaments for one year from November 1, 1931, it is prepared to accept an armaments truce as proposed by the twelfth assembly. The Note adds: “If as the result of unforeseen circumstances such as are more likely to arise in the case of countries having responsibility overseas, the British Government should bo compelled to suspend the operation of this it will immediately notify the League.”
