TRAINING COLLEGE RUMOUR
m DECISIONS REACHED STATEMENT BY MINISTER [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, November 5. Interviewed upon the message from Dunedin relating to the suggested closing of the Wellington and Dunedin Teachers’ Training Colleges, the Minister of Education (Hon. R. Masters) said the whole of the administrative side of the education system was under review, with the object of investigating possible economies. This did not mean that the training colleges, or any other aspect of the system, had been singled out. No decisions at all had been reached concerning any of the economies, and it was not correct to say that steps were being taken in any direction to bring about savings, for the reason that the investigation had not been completed.
