MAIDSTONE TOURNAMENT NEW YORK, August 3. In the doubles two English combinations—. Misses Betty Nuthall and Phyllis Mudford and Mrs Whittingstall and Miss Dorothy Round—reached the semi-finals, together with two American pairs—Mrs .Jessup and Miss Marjorie Morrill and Misses Penelope Anderson and Mary Greef. WIGHTMAN CUP NEW YORK, August 4. The United States Association has selected the following players to contest the Wightman Cup :—Mrs Helen Wills Moody, Miss Helen Jacobs, Mrs Harper, Mrs Jessup, Miss Marjorie Morrill, and Sirs Hazel Hotchkiss ■ Wightman (who will captain the team).
