AUCKLAND CHALLENGE STANDS [Special to the ‘ Stak.’] AUCKLAND, August 5. Tho Control Board of the Auckland Football Association last evening received an inquiry from tho New Zealand Council whether Auckland still wished its challenge for tho English Trophy to stand, now that tho trophy had gone to Otago. It was resolved to notify tho council that Auckland wished to challenge tho winner of the Canter-bury-Otago match to bo played late this month.
