Kidson) supplied the following at noon to-day :—The indications are for moderate southerly winds, veering by west to north shortly; there is a prospect of fair weather and milder conditions, but some isolated showers on tho coast; barometer, little movement; seas, rough swell, but decreasing; tides moderate. ARRIVED.—August 5. Tairoa, s.s. (8 a.m.), 7,983 tons, D. Christie, from Bluff. 4. Gale, s.s. (6.10 p.m.), 567 tons, M'Kenzie, for 'Wanganui via ports. —August 5. Otaio, m.s. (7.20 a.m.), 12,000 tons, G. F. Mead, for Brisbane.

The Gale sailed last evening loaded for Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui via ports. , Tho motor ship Otaio, cleared of her Homo cargo at the Victoria, wharf, ktlt her berth this morning for Brisbane. Tho transhipping of the City of Kimberley’s cargo for the varipus New Zealand and Australian ports has been completed, and the vessel is lying at Auckland awaiting the arrival of the new propeller shaft from England. Tho Breeze is due here on Friday from Wellington. She is to load out tho same day for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. It is expected that the Storm will now arrive from Bluff on Saturday to load for Wanganui via ports. A wireless message from the master of the Poolta, which left Wellington on Saturday evening _ for Dunedin, states that the vessel is sheltering at Akaroa, She is expected to como to Dunedin to-morrow, in which case she will load and sail tho same day for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Napier, and Gisborne.

The Kiwitea was limed to leave Lyttelton this afternoon for Dunedin, where she is duo in the morning. After discharge she proceeds to Timaru and Greymouth. This morning'tho Opihi loft New’ Plymouth for Wellington and Dunedin. She is due at this port on Saturday to load out for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth

The Waipiata left Auckland last night for Wellington, Bluff, and Dunedin. She is due hero about August 11 to unload and load cargo for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. THE FERRY SERVICE,

Tho Maori, from Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 8.30 this morning, and passengers and mails caught the south express. PORT GISBORNE LEAVES COLON. En route from London, the Port Gisborne left Colon on Saturday ler Wellington, where she is due on August 23. PORT ALMA FROM NEW YORK. The Port Alma left New York on Thursday for New' Zealand via Tampico She is due at Auckland about September 7. MATAROA REPORTS “ALL WELL.” The Mataroa, which left Wellington on July 29 for Southampton and London with passengers and cargo, has reported by wireless that ail are well on board, and that favourable weather has been experienced since leaving pert. TONGARIRO LEAVES LIVERPOOL. The local office of tho New Zealand Shipping Company has received advice that tho Tongariro sailed from Liverpool on July 26 w-ith cargo from West Coast ports of Great Britain for discharge at Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland about September 1. W AINU I FROM MELBOURNE. The Union Company reports that the Wainui, from Melbourne, leaves Bluff at 6 o’clock this evening for Dunedin, where she is due to-morrow to unload cargo and sail in the afternoon for Lyttelton, Wellington, and Melbourne. PURIRI REPORTS. The A. and A. Lino has received a wireless message from its chartered steamer Puriri, cn route from New York and Galveston, reporting that sho expects to reach Auckland at daybreak to-morrow. She will later proceed to Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin to complete discharge, and is due here about August 16.

RANGITATA TO LOAD. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Rangitata did r.ot leave Lyttelton until this morning, the delay being caused by the wind. She is now due at Port Chalmers to-morrow morning to load products for Home. TAIROA LOADING. Tho Shaw, Savill steamer Tairoa, which arrived this morning at Port Chalmers for loading, discharged her London cargo in Australia and had commenced loading again w-hen she was required to take the place of one ot the Aberdeen, Commonwealth liners. With a quantity of sugar and ot.ier cargo in her hold, the Tairoa .eft Townsville and took up her_ fresh itinerary at Bluff. After taking m meat, butter, cheese, and wool, she will leave hero again, probably tomorrow afternoon, for New Plymouth, Wanganui, and Wellington. _ Captain D. Christie retains ,'omrnand of the Tairoa, and his officers are Messrs T. T. Oliver; G. L. Almond, second; C. A. Meyer, third; A. D. Miller, fourth; W.' P. Moore,' chief engineer; W. Richardson, refrigerating engineer; F. Broedon, chief steward; and Dr Clark, surgeon. THE MEDORA. The ketch Medora has just been re : conditioned. New timbers and kauii planking have been used to strengthen the hull, and other parts have been similarly repaired. The little vessel, which was built at Auckland fifty-three years ago, allegedly for Bully Hayes, is now in good trim for further service as a powder lighter. She is sound as a hell, and would make a serviceable trawler. TO NORFOLK BY MORINDA.
