WE3T COAST DISPUTE SETTLEMENT EXPECTED [Per Uniteo Press Association.] WESTPORT, July 16._ There is every likelihood of the dispute over tribute coal being settled in the next twenty-four hours. The Alliance of Labour has wired to Mr Hayward (.president of tho District Miners Council) advising him that the Alliance had instructed tho watersiders to lift tno embargo on tho Charming Creek and Cascade coals. A conference is being held to-day of watersiders, seamen, and tho Miners’ District Council to discuss the situation. It is confidently expected that the dispute will bo settled. So far no intimation has been received by the Railway Department as to tlio latest move, but further information should bo available hen tho conference adjourns.
