GOOD TEMPLARY

The Hope of Caversham Lodge, No. 128, held its weekly mooting in Baxter Hall, Marion street, on Thursday. C.T. Bro. T. Giles presided over a large attendance of meinhers and visitors from All Nations’, Rescue, Star of Freedom, and Hope of Dunedin Lodges. The District Lodge Executive officers were received officially. D.C.i. Bro. W. Dickinson then gave an address and took charge of tiie meeting, the item for the evening being in the hands of the “brothers.” Mouth organ selections were given by Bros. Wilson and Crawshaw, followed by games. A successful sale of work was held in connection with the above lodge, the proceeds of which will bo devoted towards the forthcoming Grand Lodge session. Visitors were present from the Endeavour Lodge (Auckland), Hope of Caversham, Star of Freedom, and the Dunedin District Lodge Executive. Bro. Watts gave the greetings from Endeavour Lodge (Auckland). Sister Gain gave a report on the United Temperance Reform Council. The now officers were elected for the ensuing quarter as follows;—C.T., Bro. C. South; V.T., Sister Mary South; secretary, Bro. ‘Williams; treasurer, Bro. Gore; F.S.. Bro. Currie; chaplain, Sister Anthony; marshal. Bro. Poole; deputy-marshal, Sister Mason; guard, Bro. Stone; sentinel, Bro. Currie; pianist, Sister Sutton. Iho programme was Irish melodies. There was a good attendance of meinhers and visitors at the weekly meeting of the Sunshine Junior Lodge, No. 4, held in tho Church ot ChristSunday. School. Fiilcnl street, on Friday. Sister Lindsay Poole, Chief Tctuplar, presided. The grade of the Bronze Seal was conferred on two inelnbers. Reports on the membership show live lodge to be in good standing. Dos, and gave the members an interesting address on Good Tomplary in England. During tho evening one candidate was welcomed into membership, and reports wore received of tho progress of the basket ball team. A surprise parcel was handed round, and several members rendered items. Bro. Watts installed tho officers for the ensuing term, assisted by Brothers W. A. and K. A vote of thanks was accorded tho viators and installing officers. Tlio meeting of the Star of Freedom Lodge, No. 5, was well attended. One candidate for membership was initialed, and an official reception was given to the executive officers of the Dunedin District Lodge. Bros. Rands, C.T., of the Star of the East Lodge (Ashburton), Watts, of H.M.S. Diomede, a member of Endeavour Lodge (Auckland), W. A. lies, C.T., of Rescue, Williams, District Lodge foreign correspondent, Sister Pauli, L.D., of Hope of Oaversham, all responded to the welcome given by the C.T. Bros. Rands and Gore, each wth sixty years’ experience of Good Tomplary, urged the members to get busy for the coming referendum on tho Prohibition question. The election of officers for the new quarter was then proceeded with,' most of the retiring officers being rc-clectcd. Bros. Watts, lies, and Rowe contributed to the harmony of tho evening, and Bro. Scott sold candy for the benefit of the G.L. representation funds, these being provided by Sister (Miller.
