May 4. ■ [The Act states that where any person, on making application for a voting paper at o polling booth, is informed that his name (loos not appear on the roll, such applicant may vote on making a declaration in the following prescribed form:—“ 1 hereby declare; (1) That i was legally qualified to have my name placed on the roll prepared for the purpose of the election; (2) that when the said foil was closed I had reasonable cause to believe that my name had been entered thereon.” In other words, the applicant must have taken steps to have his name placed on the roll before the closing date, the omission, of his name being dim to no fault of his own.—Ed., ‘ Star.’]
