TRAMWAY’S BOARD’S OFFER
NEW CONDITIONS TURNED DOWN MEN DECLINE RE-EMPLOYMENT [Per Ukxxeu Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, April 29. , A crisis appears inevitable in ths Christchurch tramway service. As decided by the board last week, the men were all dismissed yesterday and offered re-employment under new conditions, including reduced pay. This offer most of the men are said to be refusing, and are handing the re-employment forms issued ,by the board to the union. The tramway unions in the other centres have offered to stand by tnq local men in their fight.
