MEETING OF COMMITTEE A meeting of the committee of the Dunedin Amenities and 'town 11 annmg Society was held yesterday afternoon, Mr Crosby Morris presiding. Ihe chairman, welcomed Mr Gow, a new member of the committee. The Chairman said that the committee’s annual visit of inspection would take place on Saturday, and a meeting would bo -.held later to consider the winter’s programme and the subsidy that could bo offered 19 the corporation. It was decided to visit the following places:—The overbridge at Hanover street, the triangle at the corner of Anzac avenue and Harrow street, lloss’s Corner, the Anderson’s Bay stops and playground, the entrance to Woodhaugh Gardens from George street, the Southern Cemetery, Littlebournc crescent, Driver’s road, the corner of Pine Hill road and George street, Cargill street, Rattray street, and the Town Belt at Eglinton road. It was reported that it was impossible for the society to carry out plans for beautifying the Anderson’s Bay road in the .meantime, as extensive drainage works were to be carried out. The secretary was instructed to obtain information from the City Council regarding the control of Flagstaff, Mount Cargill, and Signal Hill, so that the matter could be discussed at.the committee’s next meeting.
