RIFLE SHOOTING

KAITANGATA DEFENCE CLUB The Kaitangata Defence Rifle Club completed the second competition for the Loo Cup on Saturday. The weather conditions were fairly good, though the light was dull, and a strong wind was Wowing from the right. At 500yds J. H. Frazer, with 34, and R. IVl'Crostic and JTis2Gr> 33 each, were tho highest scorers, while at 600yds M. Brown, with a good 33, was in the lead, being off the bull only with his third and sixth shots. Again the handicappers hav < succeeded in bringing about a very close finish to the competition, there being uvo totals of 132, three of 131, and two of 130. J. H. Frazer and W. Oliver have to -hoot off for first ami second places, and R. M'Crostio and D. H. Tilson will shoot off for third. The ladies fired the second stage of their cup match, Mrs R. Scott again scoring 66 off the rifle. Miss Blackie, ft previous cup winner, also struck form, and scored 66. The other scores were as follow: —Miss Carson, 60-4-64- Mrs Coulter. 59-5-64; Mrs Clarkson, 61-1-62; Miss Bloxham, 69-3-63; Mrs M'Crostio, 52-10-62; Miss Garrey, 57-2-59.
