QUEENSTOWN NOTES
[From Our Correspondent.] Mr and Mrs W. T. Wilson, of Dunedin, have been holidaying here. Mr James- Rennie and the Misses Rennie, of Dunedin, have been holidaying in Queenstown, During their stay they were guests at M‘Bride's Hotel. Mr and Mrs D. M. Scandrett, of Invercargill, spent a holiday here recently. Mr and Mrs J. Adair, of Dunedin, are holiday making in Queenstown. Mr and Mrs J. W. Waters, of Dunedin, are on a holiday visit to the Lakes district.
Dr Holloway and family, of Dunedin, are camping at Paradise. Dr and Mrs Lyth and their two children, of Dunedin, are visiting Queenstown. Mrs G. Holloway and Miss Olive Holloway have returned to Invercargill after spending an enjoyable holiday here. Sir H. Howard and the Misses Howard arrived in Queenstown on Wednesday and are guests at the White Star Hotel. Mr and Mrs H. K. Wilkinson, accompanied by Miss E. Ryan, left ou Wednesday on their return to Dunedin after spending an enjoyable holiday. During tlieir stay they were guests at the White Star Hotel. Mr W. R. Brugh and Miss Brugh, of Dunedin, spent last.week-end here. Miss A. Al. Wheeler, a noted American journalist, spent a few days in Queenstown during the M’eek, and stayed at the White Star Hotel. Miss E. Upton and Miss M. Kirker, of Auckland, who spent a few days here, left on Friday for Elfin Bay, from where they intend walking through to Glnde House. Mr C. Bossencc, of Dunedin, is spending a few- weeks’ holiday in Queenstown. Mrs Leslie' Wilson, of Dunedin, is the guest of the Misses Geisow', Church street. Mi’ and Mrs R. Daglish have returned to Dunedin after spending the Christmas vacation here. The Misses Corn and Mona Inglis are holidaying in Christchurch. Mr J. Watling, of the XJ.S.S. Co.’s Aorangi, is the guest of Captain and Mrs Goo. Herbert, Stanley street. Mr Rupert Stroud returned to Dunedin on Sunday after spending ten days in Queenstown. Mr and Mrs J. M'Gcorge and their sou, Mr Murray M'Gcorge, of Dunedin, are spending the summer vacation in Queenstown Recent overseas visitors include the following;—Mr E. Ivuhulee (Norway), Mr C. W. Roberts. Mr B. Adams (England), Miss A. M. Wheeler (Cincinati). Miss M. M. White (Melbourne), Mrs G. E. Bayless (Chicago), Mr and Mrs H. Burch (Australia), Miss M. Kelly, Miss B. Harlpck, Miss A, Rose (Sydney). Mr and Mrs W. Clyde have returned to Dunedin after spending an enjoyable holiday. Miss Frecda Kitto, of the staff of the Special Art School at Port Chalmers, accompanied by Miss Ethel Smith, of Winton. spent a few days here during the week. Mr and Mrs H. W. Justice and Mr and Airs A.- G. Justice, who spent, the summer vocation in Queenstown, returned to Dunedin ■ Wednesday. Mr and Mrs V. Carthorpe, of Port Chalmers, spent a few days here recently. Dr Doris Gordon and her two young sons, Stratford, are the guests of Dr and Mrs W. A. Anderson, Stanley street. Recent Dunedin visitors included: — Air J. J. Boyd and the Misses Daisy and Stella Boyd. Miss M. Boyd, Miss Norma Boyd, Miss Joan Whelan, and Air D. Hamel. Dr and Airs Al'Kinnon, of Dunedin, are holidaying in Queenstown. The Rev. D. Dutton, Airs and Miss Dutton, of Dunedin, arc amongst guests at “ Laurel Bank.’/
Air and Mrs Alan Macalister and Tamil}', of Invercargill, are in private residence here. Miss 1. Pearce, of Dunedin, is the guest of her cousin, Miss Nancy Davis. AH' and _ Mrs J. Hislop aud daughter, of Dunedin, have spent a holiday in Queenstown. Air and Airs 11. Abbot, of Dunedin, have returned home after an enjoyable holiday visit. Miss E. Teiment, matron of tho Dunedin Public Hospital, is holidaying here. Air and Airs 0. Potter and Mr Lance Potter have returned to Dunedin. Mr J. 8. Dick, secretary of the Southland League, spent the Christmas and New Year holidays in Queenstown. Misses S. and D. Bailey and Mr F. Bailey, of Dunedin, have been holidaying here. Mr and Airs Arthur Lobb, and their two soils, of Timaru, are the guests of Mrs W. Hales, Ballarat street. Miss Gwenith Boulton and Miss Brown, of Khandailnh, are the guests of Aliss Boulton's sister, Airs Geo. Herbert. Misses Sylvia Nevill and F. AlacDonald, Messrs F. Salinger, F. Halstead, P. and H. Nevill. J. Benson, and E. M'Phersou, of Dunedin, have been the guests of Alajor and Mrs Peter MacKeiune, at Walter Peak. Aliss M. L. Cartwright and Miss N. Davies, of Timaru, have returned home after an enjoyable holiday. Mr and Airs T. if. MacDonald, of Grey street, Invercargill, spent a few days hem during the New Year holidays. Mr and Airs A. L. Brown, of Dunedin. spent a holiday in Queenstown recently. Mr and Mrs P. C. Alills and Miss Ihelnui Smith have returned to Invercargill. Dr W. E. Carswell and bis son, of Dunedin, visited tho Wakatipu district for a few days during the Christmas vacation Aliss W. O’Driseoll and Aliss M. Forgie have returned to Dunedin after a pleasant holiday.
