VISIT TO KARITANE-HARRIS HOSPITAL
Her Excellency Lady Bledisloe, accompanied by the mayoress (Mrs E. S. Black), visited the Karitane-Harris Baby Hospital on Thursday morning, where they were .met by the president of the Plunket Society (Mrs J. A. Johnstone), the matron (Miss Hildileh), and members,of the committee. Passing through a guard of honour formed by the Plunket and Earitane nurses in residence, Her Excellency was presented with a beautiful bouquet by the senior Earitane nurse (Nurse Vera Eirkup). , A short address of welcome and a brief liistory of the Plunket Society, which had its beginnings in Dunedin, was read by Mrs Johnstone, after which a tour of inspection was made round the hospital and tho mothercraft cottage. Lady Bledisloe was particularly interested in meeting the six mothers in residence with their babies. Photographes were taken of the nurses and the babies, with Her Excellency holding one of the tiny patients. 'The party then returned to town, ' where the mayor and mayoress were the guests of ‘their Excelloiicies at lunch at the Grand Hotel.
