6YMKHANA AND RODEO AT TAHUNA PARK At a meeting of representatives of the Otago A. and P. Society, the St. Kilda Bpnd, and the St. Kilda Beach Improvement Society last night it was agreed to hold a gymkhana and rodeo at Tahuna Park on February 5, G, and 7, during the week before Cup Week. An exceptionally strong and outlm'iastic committee was formed to make arrangements, the chairman being Mr H. Turner and the secretary Mr W. Mowat. The efforts of the three bodies is expected to gain largo public support. The A. amt P. Society lias some leeway to make up following the wet weather for the Summer Show, the St. Kilda Beach Improvement Society can usefully' use as much money as it can oh-
lain to cover its operations, and the St. Hilda Band needs funds for the trip to the band contest at Wellington next month. While assisting the above objects the public will see some very novel features. Steer riding should excite more than ordinary attention in Dunedin, and a number of equestrian events should also prove of interest, rescue races, etc , being arranged. There is also a prospect of some big side shows being in attendance. Since the above project was mooted by the three societies it is stated that a private concern has intentions of running an effort on similar lines, but the societies intend to proceed.
