TEGHKICOLOUR FILM FOR PRINCESS • Aii'.attractive and novel film of the song and dance variety will be' the feature of the new bill : at the Princess Theatre to-morrow. It is; ‘ Under a, Texas a picture that cannot fail •: to please, in that it has been devised and produced to cater for an unusually wide variety of tastes. It has been filmed wholly in teohnicolour. Variety, tuneful music, and beautifully blended and artistic colourings are the features that make it genuine and intelligent entertainment, the comedy-drama of which is set in an old Spanish-Texan atmosphere. This film is not merely a , repetition of the technicolour backstage pictures that have been so common of late. It represents something new in sound picture production. For a long time the faithful reproduction and, presentation of the colours qf the outdoors have baffled photographers, but now for the first time they havebeen realistically captured, by the film camera. ‘Under a. Texas Moon’ also has a- east of exceptional brilliance, . The leading role—that of the dashing, gallivanting ne’er-do-well Don Carlos, is played, by Frank Fay, who is supported in the feminine leads by Armida, and Myrna Loy. Armida is a wonderderfully temperamental type of actress,- , with ail engaging voice and'appearance and a most intriguing manner. Others . in the cast are Noah Beery, Tully Marshall, find Fred Kohler. The musical score includes a very attractive and Jilting theme song that . should prove very popular. ,Don Carlos is the central figure, a hard-riding, fearless daredevil, who combines love-making and rustler-hunting in the most diverting fashion. The caballero is unable to resist a pretty face, and as a consequence falls in and out of trouble as frequently as he falls in and out. of/ love.
