REFORM CANDIDATE FOR DUNEDIN SOUTH Mr D. 'C. Cameron was yesterday waited upon by a representative gathering of electors in the Dunedin South electorate with the request that he should allow himself to be nominated in tho Reform Party interests at the next general election. Mr Cameron stated his willingness to place himself in tho hands of the Reform Party supporters, and assured the deputation that, whether selected as the official Reform candidate or not. his efforts would bo directed towards returning the party to power. Mr Cameron, who was born in Dunedin, has been’a resident of St. Hilda for the past twenty-six years. He served for a number of years as a councillor and is an cx-Miiyor of St. Hilda. He takes a keen interest in educational affairs and lias served on tlio Musselburgh School Committee for twenty years, ten of which liC was chairman. Ho is also a past president and a life member of the School Committees’ Association. Ho is prominent aud popular in bowling circles, being a member of the Dominion of New Zealand Bowling Council and an ex-president of the Dunedin Bowling Centre. He has been actively connected since boyhood with the firm of Reid and Gray Ltd., and bis coiinection with matters industrial lias been such as to bring him in close contact with the worker, while at tho same time 'giving him a due appreciation of the difficulties of the primary producer.
