—Vico-Regal.— Their Exceliencies _ the Governor* General, Lord Bledisloe and Lady Bledisloo will visit Dunedin next month, arriving on Monday, January 5, and will spend approximately a week in the city. They will be accompanied by Sir John Hanham, _ Bart., A. and although not anxious to undertake too many public engagements, have consented to be present at public gatherings between January 5 and January 8. Oa the latter date they will be joined by Captain and Mrs Vaughan-Hughes, brother-in-law and sister to Lady Bledisloe, and Major and Mrs Bathurst. Tim Hon, W. A. Veiich, Minister of Railways, is to cross from Lyttelton to Wellington to-night. Captain Coll M'Donald and his wife left lor Wellington this morning. Sir Stanley Fisher was a passenger for the north by the 8.40 a.m. train to-day. Mr G. T. Wilson, of the railways head office staff, has been appointed to the position of assistant district traffic manager at Wellington. At the Albany _ Street Associated Normal School this week the staff entertained Mr A. W. Alloo on the eve of his approaching marriage, and presented him with a case of silver servers. Word was received in Dunedin to-day that Mrs Gray, wife of the Rev. H. B. Gray, died yesterday at Ayr, Scotland. Mr Gray was formerly Presbyterian minister at North-east Valley. For the last five years he and Mrs Gray have been living at Ayr. The # latest arrivals at the Grand Hotel include Messrs H. P. Evans, L. Monkman, and J. Watling (Wellington), and Messrs G. A. K. Williams,' R. A. and A. W. Buxton (Christchurch). Mr Frank Tucker (Auckland), Mr S. Woods (Napier), Mr H. M. Boyd (Christchurch), and Miss I. Romans (Oamaru) are new visitors to the Excelsior Hotel.
