CAMBRIAN SOCIETY OF OTAGO
A most successful children’s concert was held at Lake’s Club. Restaurant, the Cambrian Society of Otago being ably assisted by the pupils of the Caversliam School. The hall was packed to the limit, and a. very delightful evening’s entertainment was given by the following;—Piano duets, Edna Todd and Joyce Isaacs, Dorothy and Marjorie Harris; piano solos—Marjorie Ferguson, Edna Burro;ws, Clive Elliott; recitations—Hazel Ness Valmai Carol, Valmai Crorar; country dance, Caversbam girls; fancy dance, Muriel Leo; and songs by the Caversham School Choir, Marjorie Ferguson, Joyce Coventry, and Phyllis Saunders. The vice-president (Mr J. E. Davies) gave two Welsh songs. The winner of the Christinas cake was Mr A. Potter. The accompaniments for the evening were played by Miss Caple, Miss E. Frye, and Mrs H. 'lsaacs. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded all who had helped, and an invitation was given to the children to be the guests of the society at their opening meeting in February. Dancing was indulged in to a lute hour, and the singing of the National Anthem closed one of the most successful functions hold by the club.
