THE ROSSI RECITAL

A musical event of exceptional in-* terest is that arranged for next Wednesday evening, when Signor Giovanni Stella will present Signorina Graziella Rossi, the brilliant young dramatic soprano, in her first recital. One of the reasons that _ actuated Signor Stella to arrange this concert is that such a performance as this cannot fail to demonstrate the rich field of vocal talent waiting to be exploited among the_ younger singers in the dominion. Signorina Rossi was born, and Has spent all herlife in New Zealand, and, under the tuition of this very experienced maestro, has mastered the finest gems of all opera. ‘ The concert will illustrate the remarkable progress that Signorina Rossi has .made in her vocal studies, and justification of the assertion that she is one of the most promising and brilliant _ young singers of recent years, and, in fact, the “ find ” of a decade. Signor Stella will also enrich the concert, programme with several’of the. operatic arias he sings so .delightfully. - The concert will servo to introduce to the musical community Miss Anna Bpiasco, a young violinist who is .showing considerable promise, and Miss Luella Hamer, the sixteen-year-old pianist, who annexed Begg’s scholarship, and plays with unusual artistry. Signora MartinelliReggiardo will be the’ accompanist.The concert will take place iu Hia Majesty’s Theatre.
