Large numbers attended the carnival now being held in tho Central 1‘ iro Brigade’s gymnasium in Cumberland street last night. Most of those presept were in a genejous inoocl, as u fair amount was spent in purchasing goods from tho various stalls. The numerous games of skill never tail to attract, and these again proved a source of much amusement until the closing hour. Tho stalls wore well stocked with a fine assortment of useful articles. The proceeds from the carnival will be devoted to the Kaikorai Baud's uniform and contest fund. Being one of the oldest musical combinations established in Dunedin, the band deserves every support.
