ST. CLAIR NEEDS.

SO THE EDITOR, Sir, —May I, as one, of the early members of the St. Clair Life Saving Club and still an ardent surf bather, support “Seagull” in his letter to you of a few days ago? During the past few weeks, bathing as I do opposite Forbury Park, it has , been noticed that the Ocean Beach sand is discoloured, and that strewn along the beach from St. Clair are any -amount of stones weighing from half to two or three pounds in weight, and similar to the stones and gravel being dislodged from the St. Clair quarries. One has only to come in from a roller and bump upon one of these stones to know all about it; and fervently bless tho city councillors as well as tho Domain Board. Tho writer is one of many bathers that have discussed the need for attention to this serious matter; and as time goes on it is quite evident to all who are observant that it Will get worse if not immediately stopped—, that is, the dumping of the sand, rubble, and stones at the Second Beach. Questions relative to this and tho cost of clearing the St. Clair baths will no doubt be brought forward at the next municipal elections, and will require some answering.—l am, etc., J.M.L.
