DUNEDIN SWIMMING CARNIVAL

HANDICAPS DECLARED The first inter-club swimming carnival of the season will be held at the Municipal, Baths to-morrow night, under tho auspices of the Dunedin Amateur Swimming Club, and, judging by tho entries received, there should bo some splendid swimming aud diving witnessed, tho programme being an exceptionally well varied one. No fewer than fifteen teams have come forward for the interclub relay handicap, aud this event will mark the ontr f v into competition of the newly-formed Training College Club. Another interesting event is the family relay for teams of three, which has drawn six teams and which should provide a most exciting race. The diving display will be under the personal direction of R. C, Calder, the Empire Games representative, and H. E. Walker, wjio will head the club troupe, has been diving brilliantly of late. He will execute dives that bo has not previously attempted. All the loading swimmers of Otago will be competing in the ]ooyds handicap, and the primary schools’ event should also create a great deal of interest. A junior dive is included on the programme.
